Epidiolex uses a marijuana derivative that is helpful in treating a rare form of epilepsy called Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) and a genetic brain dysfunction called Dravet syndrome. Both syndromes can cause seizures. But Epidiolex, with its marijuana derivative, has been found to reduce a certain type of those seizures by as much as 25% to 28%, reports CNN

This drug is now an FDA Approve registered “Schedule V” drug and available in all 50 states. Epidiolex is made mostly from a purified form of the cannabidiol or CBD, and the newly approved drug contains less than 0.1 THC, and is not recommended for children under 2 years of age.

CBD products have taken the nation by a storm of the last few years and consumers are now using CBD in many different forms. CBD users say they have a wide variety of uses for the drug but mainly use it to help aid inflammation, chronic pain, anxiety, stress, seizures, and potentially help with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, diabetes, arthritis, glaucoma, MS, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, and epilepsy.

It’s good to see that the FDA and Government are taking the public’s voice into account and moving toward making CBD federally legal. As for now CBD is legal in all 50 States and can be shipped from a variety of websites.
